I literally mean it, GoPro cameras are giving us different perspectives of sports that we were used to watch from outside and from a distance, then they showed us what is it like to be inside it, up close and personal, but the different ways of mounting a GoPro can show us new and different angles that we never thought possible for shooting on "Home Video".
Our friends from !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! brought their LS powered Hyundai Genesis coupe to Willo Springs/Horse Thief Mile for Just Drift's toy drive drifting event. But they brought a new rotating camera rig that provides a whole different view of drifting.

Check out their new video right here and go follow them on Facebook for more cool drifting videos.
Also, we've been working on a music video for the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! where we tried to emulate a 3rd person view similar to a video game, for which we created our own rig and so far it gave us a great shot for this video.

Here's a small teaser preview
So, what shot is the most original you have ever seen on any motorsport?? Of what would be your suggestions for an awesome shot?? We might do that on a new video!!
All camera mounts were designed and fabricated at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

I like the 3rd person view, but it's lacking something.
When you're playing a video game and you start to drift, the camera doesn't stay perfectly rigid behind you - it shows the side of your car a little bit, so you know it's sideways.
What if you put a pivot point at the car end of the mount, with a pair of springs (one on each end), and a weight out at the camera?
That way, when you start a drift the camera will swing to the side a bit to replicate that feeling before the springs pull it back in-line with the car. Then the camera will move with the inertia of the car and feel more natural.

We are aware of that, the thing is that the 8-bit miata is supposed to be 8-bit, and most old 8 bit games the car is mostly static (some had a bit of rotation tho) but yeah we are working on another rig that's more advanced and will create that effect you are mentioning :)

Awesome.
Yeah, now that I think back a lot of those games either had a camera locked on the rear of the car or the camera was locked to the direction of travel and the car moved (i.e. Pole Position).
If you want to go hardcore 8-bit, you mount speakers in the bumpers and rig up a system so when the G-forces the car experiences go over a certain amount it plays an 8-bit tire skidding noise through the speakers.

In the pits you can play the Hotline Miami soundtrack.

When drifting, I listen to Synthwave music, Video game music covers bands, 8-bit and 16-bit original soundtracks too. ;)
